Juanita Martinez, longtime resident of Port Isabel, Texas earned her place in the everlasting peace with God on Wednesday, August 26, 2020. God said, “let not your heart be troubled, be not afraid and come unto me and I will give you rest.” And, so it came to be that she answered her Lord and entered into the eternal rest in Heaven. Juanita was a fun and loving soul, kind-hearted and spirited and to the point when she needed to be. She loved her family and friends, of which there are many, very dearly and was always there to help anyone who needed a helping hand, no matter if she knew them or not. She grew up in Port Isabel, Texas attending the Point Isabel Independent School District and was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She was the only daughter of Juanita P. Moore and was surrounded by six brothers, which earned her the nickname “Bebita.” Juanita is preceded in death by, Maternal Grandmother, Mercedes Perez, Step-father, Richard Moore, Sr., Mother, Juanita P. Moore, and Granddaughter, Kaylene Martinez. Those left to cherish her memory include: her Father Pablo Martinez, Sr. her sons, Jonathan (Jennifer)Martinez, Robert Eric (Kimberly) Martinez, and Wesley Martinez and her only daughter, Ashley (Aaron) Cantu. Her brothers, Pablo (Janie) Martinez, Jr., Reynaldo Martinez, Roland Martinez, Richard (Vonya) Moore, Jr., Robert (Luisa) Moore, and Ronnie (Lori) Moore and her partner Chris Nalley. Juanita had an immense love for all of her grandchildren, which include Krista Marie Martinez, Kara Coryn Martinez, Kaiden Jude Martinez, Anyssa Martinez, Aaliyah Martinez, Marcus Garza Garrido, Desiree Cantu, and Joshua Cantu. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart. All individuals must wear face coverings or masks. A private family viewing will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. Beginning at 6:00 pm, the family of Juanita Martinez will receive visiting friends. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm and the viewing will end at 9:00 p.m. Cremation will follow in accordance to her wishes.
