Maria Loredo-Garcia, 84, of San Benito, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, August 28, 2020, at Retama Nursing Home in Harlingen. She was born in Mercedes, Texas to parents; Aurelio and Emeralda Loredo. She worked at HEB for over 30 years in Harlingen and is remembered by many for her service till this day. She had a talent for cooking the most comforting food. Her most requested dish, Capirotada. Taking annual summer vacations to Garner State Park with her family was a memory she held closely to her heart. She also had an unending faith in God. Maria will be so greatly and deeply missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years; Enrique "Henry" Garcia, daughter; Esther Garcia, her parents; Aurelio & Emeralda Loredo, sisters; Eudelia Cantu, Dalia Loredo, Frances Garza, brothers; Donicio Loredo, Juanito Lored and son-in-law; Toro Solis. Left to cherish her memories are her adoring children: daughters; Norma (Toro+) Solis and Cynthia Garcia-Martinez, sons; Rick (Elida) Garcia, David Garcia and Rolando Garcia, grandchildren; Yvonne Rodriguez, John Michael (Mary) de la Rosa, Eric (Jessica) Rodriguez, Christopher de la Rosa, Krystal (Fred) Montiel, David Aaron (Stephanie Gonzalez) Garcia, Audrey (Jacob Puente) Garcia, Abygail Garcia, Ryan Garcia and Reanne Garcia, 16 great-grandchildren, sisters; Mary Anne (Tomas) Krummel, Irene (Joaquin) Garcia and Elia (Luis) Gomez. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends she considered family. Honored to be serving as pallbearers are Rick Garcia, David Garcia, Rolando Garcia, Eric Rodriguez, Christopher de la Rosa, David Aaron Garcia, Ryan Garcia and Art "AJ" Martinez as well as honorary pallbearers John Michael de la Rosa and Dominick Ybarra. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 7, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. There will be a chapel service on Tuesday September 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with a procession to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park for interment. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart. All individuals must wear face coverings or masks. (may include bandanas or sewn or cloth face coverings).
