Maria Petra Vasquez de Sanchez, 70 of Olmito, Texas, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020, in Brownsville, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ruben Sanchez Flores; and parents, Jose Leonor Vasquez and Estefana Martinez. Maria is survived by her loving children, Ruben Sanchez Jr., Alejandro Sanchez, Maria Del Carmen Sanchez, daughters-in-law, Karina Merari Iracheta and Sonia Sanchez; son-in-law, Alejandro Garza; grandchildren, Victoria, Ricardo Jr., Alejandro Jr., Roberto, Ruben Isaias, Ramon, Jizelle, Osira, Giovanni, Elyzette, Lee, Alessandra, Jose Leonor, and Mia Nicole; and siblings, Gregorio, Maximo, Domingo, Manuel Jr., Juan, and Maria Nicolasa. A visitation will begin Thursday, August 13, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas and cremation will follow. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart.
