Pedro "Pete" Villarreal, Jr., 68 of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 in Brownsville, Texas. Pedro "Pete" Villarreal Jr. was born to Pedro and Gertrudis "Tula" Villarreal on January 8, 1952 in Port Isabel, Texas. Pete was a lifelong resident of Port Isabel and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church where he would attend mass every Sunday with his wife Chayo. He was a man of all trades; there was not one job that he could not do. Pete and his wife were inseparable, they were always together. You would see them walking their dogs around the neighborhood every evening. Pete was full of life and had a heart of gold; he never hesitated to help anyone in need. No matter who he was around, he would take the time to talk to them and make friends. Pete was also an avid fan of the Port Isabel Tarpons and the Dallas Cowboys. His big smile will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Pete was preceded in death by his Father Pedro T. Villarreal, Sr., Mother Gertrudis B. Villarreal, Sister Blanca E. Zurita, and Brother Jose A. Villarreal. Left to cherish his loving memory are his loving wife and lifelong partner of 48 years Maria del Rosario "Chayo" Villarreal and his one and only son Juan Carlos "Fatsy" Villarreal and daughter in law Janie Villarreal; Sister - Frances (Santiago) V. Martinez; Brothers - Rogelio (Amada) Villarreal , Pablo (Maria) Villarreal, Candelario (Rosa) Villarreal, Javier (Corina) Villarreal, Juan (Guillermina) Villarreal, Carlos (Maria) Salazar, Jesus "Chuy" (Tina) Salazar; Brother in Law - Guadalupe (+Blanca) Zurita, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. We would like to thank the Port Isabel Health Clinic, Dr. Torkildsen and staff and Brownsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center administration and staff for the great care. Visitation will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 15, 2020 with a chapel service to begin at 2:00 pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Cremation will follow in accordance to his wishes.
