Mary “Kika” Basilia Garza passed away on July 27, 2020 at her residence in Rio Hondo, Texas at the age of 73. Mary was born on December 21, 1946 in Rio Hondo, Texas. She worked for Transit Bus Line Company in Harlingen for over 30 years. Mary was a dedicated worker who loved her job. She looked forward to the Sunday family barbeques. She also loved going shopping and watching her Mexican telenovelas. She never wanted to miss an episode of whatever novela she was watching at the time. She will be greatly missed by all of those close to her. Until we see each other again, in our Lord Jesus Name, Amen. She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Garza and Marcelina Garza. Surviving her is her son, Johnny Garza; her grandson Ivan Garza; her brother Guadalupe Garza; nieces and nephews: Diana Mascorro, Letty Pena, Jesus Garza; as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Due to current restrictions, this establishment will follow the 25% occupancy limit and all persons shall institute social distancing of a minimum space of 6 feet apart. All individuals must wear face coverings or masks. (may include bandanas or sewn or cloth face coverings). A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2020 at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
