San Benito,TX- Maria G. Leija, 79, entered eternal rest on Thursday, Febuary, 16, 2012 surrounded by her living family. She was born March 2, 1932 in La Paloma, TX.
She is preceded in death by her husband Margarito Leija, parents; Concepcion Guarajado and Roque Gomez as well as her father in law Margarito Delgado Leija. Two grandchildren; Jesus Garcia Jr. and Veronica Garcia.
She is survived by her loving children; Santiago (Angela) Leija, Pedro (Mary) Leija, Roy Leija, Jaime (Mary) Leija, Margarito (Theresa) Leija Jr., Martin Leija, Thomasa Leija (Jesus) Garcia and Mona Leija (Jose) Medrano. Maria is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as a host of numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 20, 2012 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM at Thomae Garza Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church with internment to follow at San Benito City Cemetery in San Benito.
