Obituary of Eugenio Portilla Jr.

Eugenio Portilla Jr., 94, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, in Harlingen, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugenio and Regina Portilla; and Leonzo Portilla.

Eugenio is survived by his loving wife, Maria de la Luz Portilla; daughters, Petra (Emilio) Ortiz, Rosario Sandoval, Martina (Jose) Maldonado, Sylvia Portilla, and Veronica (Gilberto) Ortiz; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and other relatives.

Visitation will begin on Friday, October 5, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas.

Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with interment to follow at La Paloma Cemetery.
