Obituary of Margaret Ruth Levings Christensen

Margaret Ruth Levings Christensen, 76, of Laguna Vista, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at her residence. 

Margaret Ruth Levings Christensen was born in Superior, Wisconsin in 1942. In 1952, her family moved from Superior, Wisconsin to Fort Worth, Texas where she attended Holy Name of Jesus Catholic School and Polytechnic High School, graduating in1960. She graduated from Texas Women's University in 1965 with a degree in Education. Margaret taught in Brownsville, Port Isabel, El Paso, Fort Worth, and Peru. She was married to Carl Christensen for 45 years, and they had three children who all became teachers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Donald Levings; and her brother, John Levings.

Margaret is survived by her loving husband, Carl C. Christensen; daughter, Julia (Anthony) Christensen Loken; two sons: Benjamin Donald (Lynette) Christensen and Daniel Eric (Leah) Christensen; stepson Carl Christensen Jr.; stepdaughter Rose Christensen; and siblings: Marilyn Rangel, Marcia Levings, Maria Levings, Donald Levings, Robert Levings, and Charles Levings. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren: Emma Loken, Julia Loken, Marcie Loken, Peter Christensen, Daniel Christensen, Andrew Christensen, Elena Christensen, Rosaleigh Christensen, Joseph Christensen, Elizabeth Christensen, Mariana Christensen, Gloria Christensen, Clara Christensen, Jane Christensen, Calvin Christensen, Kate Christensen, Jenna Christensen, and Hazel Christensen. 

A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 with Father Jesse Garza officiating at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 705 S Longoria Street in Port Isabel, Texas 78578.
