San Benito, Texas- Lucio Meza, 73, passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernardo and Ester Meza; brothers: Enrique, Pedro, and Bernardo Jr.; sisters Celestina Barrientos and Leonor Cortez. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Ernestina Meza; his children: Velma (Cesar Flores), Norma, Lucio Jr., Rodolfo, Belinda, Eliza, Pete, Jose Luis, and Michael; and extended family, Roger Temme. Also surviving are his siblings: Juan (Olivia) Meza and Teresa (Leonel) de la Cruz; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2012 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Mass of resurrection will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito. Committal service to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito. Serving as pallbearers are Tony de la Cruz, Ray Barrientos, Steven Cortez, John Meza, Robert Meza, Mark Mercado, Gabriel Soto, and Jose Luis Meza Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Lucio Meza Jr, Rodolfo Meza, Pete Meza, Jose Luis Meza, Michael Meza, and Ruben Barrientos.
