Maria Hernandez Treviño, 85, of San Benito, Texas, entered into Eternal Rest early Sunday morning, January 8, 2012 at her residence. Maria was a faithful Jehovah's Witness for more than 30 years. In her youth life, she was employed by Western Union at an early age. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who was very dedicated to her family and even raised some of her grandchildren as her own. She went on to assist as a teacher's aide for Frank Roberts Elementary, as well as a seamstress for Wolf Company in San Benito. She was then employed by Hilco Company sewing canvases. Maria was kind and generous woman who had a wonderful sense of humor. She will be missed dearly by all those that knew her. She is preceded in death by her father, Santiago Hernandez; three sons: Ernesto Treviño I, Ernesto Treviño II, and Juan H. Treviño; and her granddaughter, Cindy Treviño. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Ernesto Trevino Sr.; and her children: Ofelia (Gorge Jr.) Canales, José (Rosalva) Treviño, Virginia H. Trevino, Rene (Angelica) Trevino, Ernesto (Vangie) Trevino Jr., Dora Treviño, Noé H. Treviño, Iris (Tomas Jr) Rodríguez, Eloy (Erika) Treviño, and Ida (Guillermo) Treviño Salinas. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito. Committal service will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
