Isabel D. Valdez, 96, of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016 in Brownsville, Texas.
She was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel, and loved crocheting and making tamales.
She was preceded in death by her husband Epifanio Valdez; one son, Raphael Valdez; brothers: Jose Domniguez and Lucio Domniguez; sisters: Guadalupe Garza, Aurora Rosales, Lydia Delgado, and Cuca Dominguez; and parents, Jose Dominguez and Guadalupe Barrera.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Epifanio (Victoria) Valdez Jr., Baldemar (Rosie) Valdez, Abel (Fina) Valdez, Raul (Isabel) Valdez; and Jose (Mary) Valdez; one sister, Eva “Chacha” Cantu; 31 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and 39 great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service, which will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Victor Valdez, Eddie Valdez, Billy Valdez, Raul Valdez, Jr., Joe Valdez, and Jesse Valdez.
