Lydia F. Moreno, 72, of Los Fresnos, Texas, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2016 in Harlingen, Texas. Lydia was a lifetime resident of Los Fresnos and a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church. She was previously employed with the Los Fresnos School District as a cafeteria manager for 14 years and moved on to IES where she worked for another 14 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Celso and Lucia Garcia-Flores; one son, Jose Moreno; two daughters, Gracie and Esmeralda Moreno; as well as three brothers and five sisters. Surviving Lydia is her husband, Hijinio V. Moreno Sr; three daughters: Anita Matta, Raquel Madrid, Melida Arguillin; two sons, Hijinio Moreno, Jr. and Victor F. Moreno; 25 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Federico and Alfredo Flores; and two sisters, Olga F. Torres and Juanita Flores. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Garcia Cemetery in El Ranchito, Texas.
