Guadalupe P. Castillo, “La Rueda” 78, of San Benito, Texas, was called home on Thursday, August 25, 2016. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Petra L. Castillo; his parents, Jose Castillo and Ageda Gonzalez; stepfather Refugio Gonzalez; five sisters; and two brothers. Left to cherish Guadalupe’s memories are his children: Irma Estela Castillo, Jose (Amelia) Castillo, Guadalupe (Frances) Castillo, Jay Castillo, Nora (Leeroy) Bucher, Brenda (Andres) Hernandez, Marie Martha (Joel) Garcia, and Javier (Kristina) Castillo; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings: Ageda (+Reynaldo) Guajardo, Antonio (Irma) Gonzalez, Irma (+Cruz) Ramirez, Saul (Maria) Gonzalez, and Esmeralda (Juan) Sanchez. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 28, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 29, 2016 at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
