Isidoro "Lolo" Noriega, 77, of San Benito, was called to be with the Lord while he was at home surrounded by his family on November 2, 2011. Isidoro Noriega was born on April 11, 1934 to Julio and Agueda Noriega in La Paloma, TX. Lolo was the foreman for the San Benito Cotton Gin for many years. He enjoyed traveling to California and Mississippi to run cotton gins over there as well. He loved his work and made many life-long friends along the way. He had the privilege of serving his community as being a member of the San Benito C.I.S.D. School Board. He is preceded in death by his father, Julio Noriega; and his brother, Ernesto (Rosa) Noriega. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 55 years, Delia Noriega; his children: Paula (Adan) Gonzalez of San Benito, Isidoro (Connie) Noriega Jr. of Santa Rosa, Sylvia (Ruben) Caballero of San Benito, Delia (Pete) Claudio of San Benito, and Amanda (Jose) Ledezma of San Benito; his siblings: Edio (Aurora) Noriega of San Benito, Guadalupe (Dora) Noriega of San Benito, Lydia (Jose) Fonseca of Harlingen, and Yolanda (Pedro) Lopez of Harlingen; sister-in-law, Rosa Noriega; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011 from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm, with a holy rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm, at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 1:00 pm at St. Benedict Catholic Church in San Benito. Committal service will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park.
