Alberto Miranda, 60, of Port Isabel, Texas passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 in Brownsville, Texas. He was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and member of First Baptist Church and Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, Texas. During his 30 years of employment, he worked as a police officer, at the SPI Reserve, Cameron County Constables and Tax Office, Point Isabel School District, and a clerk at Padre Grand Hotel on South Padre Island. He was also a past volunteer fireman for the Port Isabel area, and assisted with C.C.E. Classes and Laguna Madre elections. He was preceded in death by father, Guadalupe Puentes; two brothers, Jose Angel Medrano and Antonio Rodriguez; nephew Jose Luis Medrano; and sister-in-law, Donna Medrano. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Maria Saucedo Miranda; children: Jose Alberto Miranda and Casandra Miranda; one grandson, Mario Camacho III; mother, Gloria Puentes; sisters: Lupita (Roel) Chavez, Evangelina Puentes, and Nancy Puentes; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m., Pastor Steven Martinez officiating the service at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Cremation will follow in accordance to his wishes. A special thanks to Valley Regional Medical Center and staff, Dr. Betancourt, Dr. Ellis, Dr. Karkoutly, and Dr. Sharma.
