San Benito,TX- Oscar S. Cruz, 54, born in Dalhart, Texas August 15, 1961 and resided at the age of seven in South Texas, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016 in Harlingen, TX. Oscar Cruz proudly worked for the City of San Benito for 15 years as a heavy machine operator. He is preceded in death by his father Sixto Cruz and one brother Manuel Cruz. Oscar is survived by the mother of his children Juanita “Janie” Sanchez. Also leaving behind to cherish his memories are his loving kids, Oscar Cruz Jr., Crystal Lee Martinez, Samson Cruz, his parents Jose Guadalupe Sr. and Idalia Garcia. He also survived by his siblings John Paul Cruz, Maria “Lanie” Elena Cruz, Hector Cruz, San Juanita “Tita” Sanchez, Gregorio “Greg” Cruz, Jose Guadalupe “Joey” Garcia Jr., Richard James Cruz, Mickey “Cesar” Lee Garcia, Graciela Estrella Cruz, John Oscar Cruz and his grandchildren Israel Cruz, Arnold Martinez Jr. “A.J”, Jesson Emilio-Lee Cruz, Lennox Noah Martinez “Noah”, Sophia Skye Cruz “Sophie” and expected Silver Alexander Cruz Visitation will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 12pm to 9pm with a rosary to be recited at 7pm at Thomae Garza Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 10am St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Benito with cremation to follow in accordance with his wishes.
