Obituary of Aurora E. Quintanilla

RIO HONDO, TX – Aurora E Quintanilla was born on December 18, 1924 in Brownsville to Nacario Escamilla and Ignacia Salas and went to be with the Lord on March 24, 2016 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her son, Rolando Moreno (formerly from Mercedes, TX.). Aurora is survived by her children: Yolanda Moreno Trevino (San Antonio), Sandra Torres (Houston), and Maria Garza (Jose) from Michigan. Grandchildren: Joseph Edward Trevino and Omega Trevino (San Antonio) Juan Hernandez, Jr., Yolanda Arriola (Frank), Sylvia Garcia (Jose) (Houston), Michelle Gutierrez (Harlingen), Maribel Garza, Juanita Sanchez, Angelica Freeman and Joanna Garza from Michigan and Rolando Moreno Jr. Brother, Jose Humberto Gutierrez (Irma) San Antonio) and Astrid Gutierrez (Matamoros). 26 Great Grandchildren. Fidel Ortega III being her pride and joy and who is the only one she verbally declared would be entitled to everything she left behind. Her request will be honored by her daughters. Unfortunately, because there are so many names impossible to remember no other names will be mentioned. She also had 4 Great Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Quintanilla at her request is being cremated and her ashes disposed as expressed to her daughters before she left on her long journey. Funeral services will not be held. Her daughters’ sincerest appreciation is extended to the Harlingen Medical Center, doctors and staff, and to Windsor Atrium Nursing Home personnel and staff who made her last days as easy as possible. They also wish to express their gratitude to the many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who came to pay their respects, especially to their dearest friend, Mela Lozano for her support.
