Obituary of Rolando Vega

Please share a memory of Rolando to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Rolando Vega, 43, of San Benito, Texas was called home to eternal rest on February 15, 2016 at Windsor Atrium Nursing Home in Harlingen, Texas, surrounded by his family. Rolie AKA “Spikey” or “Pollito” attended James Pace High School in Brownsville and later Chenier Business College in San Angelo. It was there that he met his loving wife of 23 years on a $5 bet at Dairy Queen. Roland was a loving person who touched many lives with his gentle heart and humorous character. Roland moved to Missouri and worked for many years with Securitas Security Company until retiring in 2009 following his diagnosis with Multiple Sclerosis in 2006. He has left us in peace and was preceded in death by his mother, San Juanita Vega. A beloved father, husband, brother, uncle and friend, Rolando leaves behind to cherish his wonderful memory: his wife, Jessica; his loving daughter, Bianca; father, Ynosencio Vega, Jr.; sister, Alicia Lemus (Ruben); and brothers, Jaime Vega and Javier Vega (Valerie); along with 9 nieces and nephews. No local services will be held and cremation will take place in accordance with his wishes. The family would like to thank La Familia Home Health, Windsor Atrium Nursing Home, Greater Valley Hospice and Thomae Garza Funeral Home, including all friends and family for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that letters or cards with your fondest memories/photos of Rolando be mailed for his daughter’s keepsake.
