Raquel G. Atkinson, 80, of Olmito, Texas, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2016 surrounded by her loving family at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Antonio M. Atkinson; two sons: Antonio G. Atkinson Jr. and Lee Roy G. Atkinson.
She is survived by her five children: Oscar (Thelma) Atkinson, Pastor Hector (Aida) Atkinson, Elizabeth (Epitacio) Ramirez, Sandra (Timothy) Mejorado, Lee Roy (Nelda) Atkinson; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren and other relatives.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home.
Chapel service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
