Jose Lucio Cortez, 90, of San Benito, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 in Harlingen, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Amelia C. Cortez; four children: Jose L. Cortez, Oscar Cortez, Roman Cortez, and Rosa C. Huerta.
Mr. Cortez is survived by his children: Consuelo Paz, Minne Burk, Josie (Juan) Hernandez, Eva (Jose) Servin, Luisa Cortez, and Lupita Cortez; one sister, Modesta (Santiago) Treviño) 28 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae Garza Funeral Home.
A chapel service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 7, 2015 at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow at San Benito City Cemetery.
