Jesus Juarez Sr., 58, of San Benito, Texas, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, surrounded by his beloved family. He was born in El Ranchito, Texas to Julian and Maria Juarez. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle who was devoted to his family. Jesus was a longtime resident of El Ranchito, who worked for Cameron County Public Works, Pct. 1 for 22 years under Pedro (Pete) Benavidez as a backhoe operator. He was an avid Bingo player. He spent his Sundays watching his favorite team, The Dallas Cowboys. He had his Herbal Life Club in El Ranchito which he had so much faith in. He’d say that the Herbal Life had saved his life and it had given him a second chance. He is preceded in death by his parents Julian and Maria Juarez; brother, Israel Jose (Relo) Juarez Sr.; and a nephew, Juan Ramon (Pandi) Hernandez. Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 34 years, Maria Vela Juarez; his children: Jesus Juarez Jr., Adrian (Tori) Juarez, and Melissa Juarez. Jesus is also survived by his sisters: Guadalupe (Carlos) Garcia of Florida, San Juana (Baldomero) Garcia of El Ranchito, and Sylvia (Ramon) Hernandez of El Ranchito. He was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Valerie, Jayda, Avery, Jesus, Baby Cadence Juarez, & Andria and Adrina Juarez. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at St. Ignacio Catholic Church with burial to follow at Garcia Cemetery in El Ranchito, Texas.
