Obituary of Patty Eleanor Schreiner

Please share a memory of Patty to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Houston/Harlingen, TX-Patty Eleanor Worley Schreiner, 86, was born in San Benito, Texas on September 26, 1928 and went to be with our Lord on Saturday, August 29, 2015. Patty loved people, would talk to complete strangers to get to know them better and always willing to share her food with anyone who was hungry.  Patty loved beauty, gardening and flowers being her favorite, along with cooking for her family, and friends using her best china to host a meal gathering at her table.  She loved her home, animals, her family, cherished her 38 years of friendship connection with her neighbors at her Houston Townhome Community before moving to her Senior Living Home in Lake Jackson.  She loved caring for her brothers and sisters and adored her two grandsons.  She enjoyed spending time with her longtime friend Jody, while they laughed until they cried.  Her passion was shopping, dressing in style while having a great gift of picking out clothes for others. While residing at the Senior Living Home, Patty and her late husband (Rocky) were known as the Newlywed Couple and they were nominated King and Queen during their Mardi Gras 2015 Celebration.  Patty and Rocky danced their last dance together at a wedding reception in 2015 before their health declined.  Shortly after the passing of her husband, Rocky of 66 years in July, Patty’s heart was broken as she tenderly cared for him daily. Her health rapidly declined and she was released peacefully into the arms of Jesus.  She now is reunited with Rocky for eternity.  Many thanks to Patty’s caregivers at the Elmcroft Senior Living Home in Lake Jackson.  God used you as His vessels of love to make her life more comfortable this last year preparing for her homecoming to be with Jesus. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Clayton P. Schreiner (Rocky), her parents, Hardy Huston Worley and Hazel Marie Spurlock; sisters, Esther Carlson, Sadie Mae Farish; and a brother, Jack Worley.   Left to cherish her memory is her son, Mark Schreiner; her daughter, Janice (Neel) Wells; grandsons David (Lisa) Pratt and Clay Pratt; one-great grandson, Gianni Gomez; her sister, Bobbie Jean Staples; and her brother, Don Worley, as well as several loving nieces and nephews and extended family members. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. Chapel services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, TX.
