Simon Carlos Chavez, 62, of San Benito, passed away Friday, May 15, 2015 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas.
He is preceded in death by is parents, Simon Chavez and Sophia Cabrales.
Simon is survived by his wife, Guadalupe Sanchez Chavez; his sons: Carlos Chavez, Cesar (Misty) Chavez; siblings: Jose Chavez, Pali Chavez, Julie Chavez, Tomas Chavez, Lucy Chavez, Francisco Chavez, Juanita Chavez, Goya Chavez; grandchildren: Kathrine Chavez, Grace Chavez, Mateo Chavez, Mya Chavez, Juan (Alma) Varney, Manuel Varney, Felipe Gonzalez; great grandchildren: Kya Castillo, Jocelyn Castillo, and Anthony (Sheyla) Castillo,
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2015 from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm at Thomae Garza Funeral Home at Thomae Garza Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 21, 2015 at St. Theresa Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m., interment will follow at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Cremation will follow.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Carlos Chavez, Cesar Chavez, Juan Varney, Felipe Gonzalez, Francisco Chavez, and Manuel Varney.
