Pedro Cabrera, 84, of Rio Hondo, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Harlingen Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. He is preceded in death by his son, Guadalupe Cabrera; daughter, Gloria Cabrera; and two grandsons, Jose Cabrera and David Cabrera. He is survived by his wife, Esther Cabrera; his children: David (Maria) Cabrera, Lucia Cabrera, Pedro Cabrera, Gloria Ester Cabrera, Cristobal Cabrera; 33 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church in Rio Hondo, Texas. Interment will follow at Las Yescas Cemetery.
