Roberto "La Calavera" Ramon Rodriguez, 71, of Port Isabel, TX, passed away on September 26, 2011 at his residence. He was a life-long resident of Port Isabel and a shrimper in the shrimp industry. He is preceded in death by his parents: Juan and Josephina Mesa Rodriguez; three brothers: Juan Rodriguez Jr., Miguel Rodriguez, and Lalo Rodriguez; and three sisters: Victoria Barrera, Beatrice Ramirez, and Aurora Perales. Roberto is survived by his loving wife Leonor Bocanegra de Rodriguez of Port Isabel, TX; two daughters, Sylvia Bocanegra of Port Isabel, TX and Rosa (Guy) Bocanegra Pfitzner of Houston, TX; two sons, Joe (Juanie) Bocanegra of Port Isabel, TX and Johnny Joe (Patricia) Rodriguez of Houston, TX; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Josefina Cuellar and Lydia (Armando) Alvarez; and one brother, Felix (Cetic) Rodriguez. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 4:00 pm at 9:00 pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. A chapel service will be held Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 10:00 am at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Cremation will follow in accordance to his wishes.
