San Benito, TX, - Guadalupe Diaz Cortez., 93, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and long time resident of San Benito entered eternal rest on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Harlingen Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, sisters and one grandson. Left to cherish Guadalupe's memory include her daughters Consuelo(Eliazar) Galvan of San Benito and Anita (John) Booker of Bells, TN and sons Leonel Cortez, Abel (Ofelia) Cortez of Corpus Christi, Fidel (Emmy) Cortez Jr. of San Benito, Raul (Yolanda)Cortez of Devers, 19 Grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Visitations will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at St. Benedicts Catholic Church in San Benito with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
