Port Isabel, TX, - Juan Antonio Sandoval, 74, of Port Isabel passed away on Monday, November 8, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. He was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel; a life long resident of Port Isabel; and a shrimper in the shrimping industry for 50 years. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Griselda Infante; his parents, Juan Archangel Cabrera and Maria Lucrecia Sandoval; a brother, Tomas Francisco Sandoval; 3 sisters, Ana Francisca Sandoval, Rosa Emelina Sandoval, and Emma Cabrera; and a niece, Melissa Sandoval. Juan is survived by his wife of 41 years, Olga Maria Sandoval; 6 children, Nicolasa Sandoval, Gustavo (Maria L.) Sandoval, Juan Antonio (Nina) Sandoval, Jr., Erika Arely Sandoval, Misael (Debbie) Sandoval, and Maria Lucrecia Sandoval; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Miguel Alfredo Duran and Carlos Cabrera; and a sister, Arely Monterosa. Visitations will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito and continue from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. Visitations will continue Friday, November 12, 2010 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Visitations will continue Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 9:00 A.M. up until the Mass of Resurrection at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. Interment will follow to Port Isabel City Cemetery.
