San Benito, TX: Rafael Gomez, 85, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Lydia Z. Gomez; a son, Rafael Gomez, Jr.; his father, Faustino Gomez; and his mother, Gregoria Sanchez.
Rafael is survived by his sons, Ruben (Gloria), Faustino (Nelda), Gilbert (Esmeralda), Ernesto (Ester), Jesus (Diana), Benito (Judy), Samuel and Robert; his daughters, Dolores Garcia, Olga Garza, Esmeralda (Ricardo) Cantu, Irma (Armando) Flores and Graciela Alvarado; numerous grandchildren and many other family members.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2010 from 12 Noon to 9:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment will be follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park.
