Obituary of Marian Voecks

Marian F. Voecks, beloved wife of Clifford W. Voecks passed away on January 15, 2010 in Harlingen, Texas after suffering a massive stroke. She was 72 years old. Marian spent her winters in La Feria, Texas and her permanent residence was in Grimes, Iowa. Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Fay Gardner, two brothers, Don and Roger Gardner; and a step-daughter, Deanna Voecks. Marian is survived by her loving husband, Clifford W. Voecks, one brother, Dick (Sharon) Gardner, two daughters, Diane (Doug) Buster of Chicago and LeAnn (Rex) Hewitt of San Benito, three step-children, Brad, Brenda and Cindy Voecks, three grandchildren, Mat (Tally), Brian and Keaton Buster, one great-grandchild, Alex Buster, two nieces, five nephews and several step-grandchildren. Marian was born in Youngstown, Ohio, grew up in Clarion, Iowa and resided in Grimes, Iowa since 1959. She worked as a switchboard operator, starting with Bell Telephone in Clarion in the 1950's and eventually retired from Super Valu corporate office in Des Moines. After retirement, Marian and Cliff began spending their winters in Texas, where they enjoyed the warm weather, trips to Mexico and re-connecting with their fellow Winter Texans. Her smile will be greatly missed by all new her.
