Socorro Nerio, 76, of San Benito, TX, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010 at her residence in San Benito, TX. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Ernestina Nerio. Socorro is survived by her 2 daughters, Janellfia (Ricardo) Castaneda and Lupita (Hector) Santiago; her grandchildren, Ricardo Castaneda, Jr., Brandon, Elijah, Angelica Paloma, Joshua Castaneda, Janel Ernestina Ramos, Gennesret Socorro Ramos and Hector Ethan Santiago, Jr.; and a great grandchild, Brandon Lee Castaneda. She was a dedicated Jehovah Witness for over 30 years; the family of Ms. Nerio would like to give a special thanks to Odyssey Hospice and Veranda Nursing Home of Harlingen for all the care they gave to her. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 18, 2010 from 1:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Chapel Service will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito, Texas.
