Mission, Tx/Port Isabel, Texas- Gloria "La Gavilana" Dominguez, 82, of Mission, Texas and a past resident of Port Isabel, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at Mission Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan "Gavilan" Dominguez; father, Adolfo Garza Sr; two sisters, Josephine Gonzalez and Nellie Cuellar; and a brother, Rolando "Rudy" Garza. Gloria was born and raised in Port Isabel and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church; she resided in Galveston, TX for many years where she was a member of Lady Auxiliary, V.F.W. and Elks Lodge Club, and the Fraternal Order Eagles Club. She moved to Mission, TX where she lived for the past four years. She is survived by her two children: Jeanette (Pete Jr.) Gonzales of Dickinson, Texas and Romaldo Garza Dominguez Sr. of Mission, Texas; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; Two brothers, Adolfo (Cristina) Garza and Roy (Rebecca) Garza Sr.; four sisters: Ada Gonzalez, Vitay (Leon) Irvin, Anna Melina, and Katie Rocha; She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 29, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with Mass of Resurrection to begin at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church located on 705 S. Longoria St. in Port Isabel, Texas. Visitation will continue on Saturday, July 30, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 2:00 PM at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito.
