Obituary of Ret. Army Sgt. Jerry Burch

Port Isabel, TX. Jerry Lee Burch, 75, of Port Isabel, Texas entered into eternal rest on June 29, 2009. He was born on December 09, 1933 in Donna, Texas to William Maurice Burch and Rosa Lee Hooks-Burch of Donna, Texas. Sgt. Burch served three tours of duty in the Army in Korea and one in Germany before retiring. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, William M. Burch of San Antonio, TX and Robert G. Burch of Port Isabel, TX. Left to cherish his loving memories is his wife of 54 years, Jessie M. Burch of Port Isabel, TX; one son, Jerry Lee Burch, Jr. of Laguna Vista, TX.; and his three grandchildren, Eric Justin Burch, Ryan Jay Burch and Sarah Kay Burch all of Laguna Vista, TX. Visitation will begin today Wednesday, July 1, 2009 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 p.m. with a Chapel Service beginning at 3:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito. Interment will follow to Donna City Cemetery in Donna, Texas. Words of comfort can be sent to the family of Sgt. Jerry Lee Burch at www.thomaegarza.com Military Honors will be conducted at the graveside by American Legion Post 205 of Harlingen.
