Rio Hondo, TX- LaVina Elizabeth Robinson Fambro was born on September 16, 1925 in McAllen, TX. Her parents were Stanley Robinson (I) and Ida E. Barnard. LaVina is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dewey Franklin Fambro; her son, Randal W. Fambro; her brothers, Harold Robinson and Stanley Robinson II; Ms. Fambro is survived by her son, Alton K. (Sally) Fambro; her daughter, LaNeva Steiner; daughter in law, Dianne Fambro; and brother, Alvia R. (Dolly) Robinson; 7 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Lavina was a member of the Harlingen Church of Christ and Eastern Star 641. She worked as a food manager in Harlingen and Rio Hondo School District, also worked as a Certified Food Dietician Assistant in Nursing Homes for 10 years. She cared for many ill and handicapped family members; she helped to transport crippled children to Masonic Hospital Dallas, TX and to Shriner Hospital in Shreveport, LA. Visitations will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 from 11:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito.
