Port Isabel, TX- Casilda L. Gonzalez, 78, born in Port Isabel, on September 29, 1930, entered into eternal rest with the Lord on Monday, April 20, 2009 at her residence in Port Isabel, with her family at her bedside. Casilda is preceded by her infant daughter, Evangelina Gonzalez, her parents, Maria V. Dela Garza and Indalecio Lopez. Left to cherish her memory is her loving family, her husband of 64 years, Antonio Gonzalez, Sr.; her 4 sons, Andy (Rose), Tony "Pichie" (Maria Elena), Alex (Monda) and Arturo 'Tutu" (Nancy); her 2 daughters, Mavelia (Fidel) Calvillo and Mary Jane (Jesse) Tapia; 3 sisters, Rita Tamayo, Josefa 'Chepa" Martinez and Maria Helmke; 3 brothers, Victor Bulerez, Guadalupe Dela Garza, Jr. and Jose Antonio Dela Garza; and a foster sister, Frances Etheridge; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 12 Noon to 4:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home and continue from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Our Lady Star of Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. Visitation will continue on Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 12 Noon to 3:00 P.M., Funeral Mass will begin at 3:00 P.M. at the church. Interment will follow to Port Isabel City Cemetery.
