San Benito, TX - Jose G. Martinez born Jose Guadalupe Martinez in Edinburg, TX on July 5, 1927 entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 24, 2009. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuela Quintanilla and Jose Martinez Sr., two brothers, Leopoldo Martinez and Jose Jesus Martinez; sisters Ramona, Josefa, Santos, Rita, Socorro and Raquel; one son, Raul.
Jose is survived by his loving wife Alicia F. Martinez; children, Luis, Gloria, Asalia, Hilda, Delia, Esther, Ezequiel, Eliseo, Roel, Ismael and Jose; 40 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 11:00 am at St. Helens Catholic Church in Rio Hondo, TX. Interment will follow to San Benito City Cemetery
