Obituary of Magdalena Garcia

Please share a memory of Magdalena to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Magdalena H. Garcia, 89, of Port Isabel, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, received her angel wings on July 2, 2011, surrounded by four generations of loving family members. As a beloved and steadfast disciple of Christ, even unto her last hours, she continued to lovingly pray over everyone who came to see her. Over the years, her devout religiosity helped to spread the "good news," and her life was the consummate example of trusting in, and living in Christ. Magdalena "Nena" Garcia was our Angel on Earth, and our only comfort will be in knowing that she will forever guide us as matriarch, even if from Heaven. She will be missed greatly. Nena was born on December 13, 1921 in Port Isabel, Texas. Throughout her life she was an active member of the community. She was a founding member of the Port Isabel La Escuelita Preschool, and a member of the Our Lady Star of the Sea Church Cookie Club and prayer circle. She is survived by two sons, Roberto H. (Esther) Garcia and Rodolfo H. (Rita) Garcia, both of Port Isabel; four daughters: Maria Magdalena Garcia of Port Isabel, Sara Cristina (Nicolas †)Reyna of Corpus Christi, Alma Iris (Wenn) Moore of Port Isabel, and Melba Beatrice Garcia of Austin; five sisters: Maria de Refugio Guzman, Josefina (Henry) Lubbeck, Ruby (Jose) Garcia, Henriquetta (William †) Barrera, Camila (Richard) Folmer, and two brothers Roberto (Refugia) Holland, and Ernest (Sara) Holland; fifteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Mariano Holland, Sr. and Refugia Perez Holland, her husband of 56 yrs. Roberto T.
