Port Isabel, TX - Agapito "Pito" Villarreal, Jr., 54, of Port Isabel, TX passed away Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Villarreal was a lifetime resident of Port Isabel and a member of Our Lady Star of Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. He was employed with Varmicon for the past 32 years as a concrete driver. He is preceded in death by his father, Agapito Villarreal; his brother, Eduardo Villarreal and his nephew, Fred Sepulveda. Agapito is survived by his daughter, Mary Alice Villarreal of San Juan; his son, Agapito Villarreal III of McAllen; 2 grandchildren, Alejandra Villarreal and Asia Jimenez; his mother, Aurora Villarreal of Port Isabel; 4 brothers, Ruben (Olga) Villarreal and Francisco Villarreal both of Port Isabel; Jose Vidal (Gracia) Villarreal and Ernesto (Norma) Villarreal both of Laguna Vista; 4 sisters, Inez (Joel) Ochoa of Laguna Vista; Maria Cristina Card-Villarreal of Brownsville; Flora Estella (Ernesto) Sepulveda of Harlingen; and Suzanne Villarreal of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, February 6, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, located at 705 S. Longoria St. in Port Isabel. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on February 7, 2009 at Our Lady Star of Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel. Interment will follow to Port Isabel City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Eduardo Avalos, Federico Gonzalez Jr., Joel Salinas, Ernesto Sepulveda Sr., Manuel Espinoza Sr., Rolando Ramirez, Joe Trevino, Joel Ochoa, Luis Martinez and Brian "Goose" Richardson. Honorary Pallbearers will be his Brothers. The Villarreal Family would like to extend a "Special Thanks" to Dr. Abraham Cano, Dr. Todd Shenkenberg, Odyssey Hospice Care and the MICU staff and the 4th Floor staff of Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
