Guadalupe Lopez, Jr., 75, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024. Guadalupe Lopez Jr., from Bay City, TX, was born to Guadalupe Lopez Sr. & Maria Conception Mancillas in Brownsville, TX where he resided until his early teenage years when he met his wife of 56 years, Ynes Lopez. They had a family of four; two sons, Guadalupe Lopez III of San Benito TX, Alfredo Lopez of Bay City TX and two daughters, Naomi Torres of Bay City TX and Melissa Lopez / son in-law, Victor Saldaña of Bay City TX. He had twelve grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren. He was a loving father and grandfather and was always about his family which he worked hard for all his life as a migrant worker. He also enjoyed doing yard work, mowing, planting his nopal and chile / pepper plants. Guadalupe had a green thumb for that kind of work. He also loved to go fishing almost every weekend with his grandkids. He really enjoyed dancing and listening to oldies music. Everyone knew at grandpa’s house we only watch his favorite shows, Gunsmoke and Rifleman; it was on 24/7. Every meal at his house was served with his homemade salsa. This was always a must have! He was loved by everyone and will be tremendously missed. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. Visitation will resume on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. with cremation to follow in accordance with his wishes.
