Arturo Almaguer Sr., 81, of Los Fresnos, Texas passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 in Los Fresnos, Texas. He was a lifetime resident of Los Fresnos attended Los Fresnos School District married the love of his life on October 25, 1970. He spent most of his young life as a migrant worker until later working in construction and ultimately working for the City of Harlingen Parks and Recreation until his retirement in 2003. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather he enjoyed watching wrestling and boxing as well as listening to music. He enjoyed his life always surrounded by his loved ones. Arturo is preceded in death by his parents Ricardo Almaguer and Guadalupe Perez Almaguer as well as his sister Irma Salinas. Left to cherish his memories is his loving wife of 53 years Petra Almaguer De Los Reyes; daughters: Belinda Almaguer, Beatriz G. (Joel) Almaguer, and Petra (Michael) Almaguer; SON: Arturo (Erika) Almaguer; grandchildren: Arturo (Addy) Hernandez Jr., Lucila G. (Gerardo) Lopez, Ryan Gonzalez, Adalberto (Amanda) Bennett, Natalie Y. Bennett, Fabian Isaac Almaguer, Richard A. Aguillen, Victor Valdez, Alyssa G. Almaguer, Arturo Almaguer III and Ricardo Almaguer; great-grandchildren: Aleyda Anahi Hernandez, Adalynn Rae Hernandez, Ayleen April Hernandez, Josiah Anthony Gonzalez and Penelope Averie Lopez as well as one brother Juan Almaguer. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. rosary at Thomae Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A 10:00 am funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, November, 21 2023 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Los Fresnos Texas, in accordance to his wishes cremation to follow.
