LOS FRESNOS,TX.—Adela Gonzalez "Adelita" Trejo 89 of Los Fresnos, Texas entered into eternal peace and rest early Sunday morning on the 19th day of August, 2007 just 8 days shy of her 90th Birthday. Adelita was born on August 27, 1917 on a ranch known as "Las Yescas Ranch", to Francisco G. "Papa Panchito" Gonzalez and Dolores Ramirez "Mama Lola" Gonzalez. With a strict up bringing, Adelita assumed one of the highest degrees of responsibility, which was helping to raise her siblings and working hard on their ranch. Through out her life she was always a hard worker yet a lady of high class and sophistication. Adelita was very well known in the areas of Rio Hondo, Las Yescas, Los Laureles, La Tina, and Los Fresnos, Texas. She worked for many years in Food Service with the Los Fresnos C.I.S.D. and many people remember her for her passion as a Seamstress. She would sew anything from clothing to costumes and her cooking was impeccable, a trait that flowed over to her daughter Margie. Survivors include: Daughter, Margie Trejo (Juan Carlos) Sierra Los Fresnos, TX, Grandson: George Anthony Sanchez Granddaughter: Venessa Yvette Sanchez Granddaughter: Aman-da Nicole "Mandy" Sanchez, Grandson: Juan Carlos "Johnny" Sierra, Jr; 2 Sisters: Mariana G. Lopez of Sacramento, California, Dolores Virginia Mosley of Brownsville, TX. and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mrs. Trejo leaves behind many fond memories of a beautiful life. Adelita was preceded in death by her loving Husband; Amado Leal Trejo, Parents; Francisco G. & Dolores Ramirez Gonzalez, Siblings; Bernardo R. Gonzalez, Carlos R. Gonzalez, Trinidad R. Gonzalez, Estela G. Ortiz, Antonia G. Fragozo, Macario R. Gonzalez, and Librado R. Gonzalez. Serving as her pallbearers will be George Anthony Sanchez, Juan Carlos Sierra, Jr., Danny Ortiz, Oscar Munoz, Oscar Gonzalez, and Abel G. Lopez. Viewing with visitation will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2007 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. in the North Chapel, we ask that you join us after the rosary as we continue to celebrate the life of Adelita with a video tribute presentation. Visitation will resume on Friday, August 24, 2007 as of 9:00 a.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. for a 2:00 p.m. funeral service at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with interment to follow at Mont-Meta Memorial Park. Words of comfort may be expressed to the family of Adelita via www.thomaegarza.com. A very special gratitude is deeply expressed to Dr. Robert Minor, M.D. and the staff of Internal Medicine Associates and especially grateful to "Lupita Escobar" and also Dr. Ivelisse Lugo, M.D. and her staff at the Wound Care Clinic and all of the Nurses of House Calls Home Base Health Care, Vicki Roy Home Health Care, and all of the Providers that took great care of our "MoMo" during her most difficult days. A heartfelt gratitude is expressed to Leonor Ramos with Valley Baptist Medical Center and all the Administrators, Nurses, and staff of Retama Manor in Harlingen for the finest care given to our "MoMo". Thanks to Father Steve Hernandez of St. Cecilia Catholic Church for always keeping Adelita in his prayers and Alberto M. Vega and the staff of Thomae-Garza Funeral Directors.
