Valentin Salas Munoz, 80, of Harlingen, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 in Harlingen, Texas. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Martina Tapia Muñoz Valentin is survived by his loving wife, Rafaela Leal Munoz; children: Juan (Manuela) Muñoz, Maria Del Rosario (Noe) Gonzalez, Ruben Muñoz, Martha Nelda (Arturo) Mena, Miguel (Vanessa) Muñoz and Maritza Roxanne Muñoz; step-children: Karen (Jesse) Herrera, Debra Rodriguez, Hector (Leslie) Cano, Arturo (Sara) Cano and Juventino (Jennifer) Cano Jr.; as well as numerous grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 6:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Committal service will follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park. Honored to be serving as pallbearers are Daniel Muñoz, Javier Gonzalez, Angel Muñoz, Joseph Mena, Miguel Muñoz and Ruben Muñoz.
