Paula Garza Cruz age 70 went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, aunt. She loved to play bingo, cook, and just be surrounded by family. She had a great heart that touched many lives. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ida Iris Martinez; her parents, Roque A. Garza and Veronica Garza; brothers, Manuel Garza, Juan Garza, David Garza; and sister, Celia Talbott. She is survived by her husband, Emeterio Cruz; one son, Ramiro (Teresa) Martinez Jr; daughters, Norma (Craig) Kundtz, Leticia (Diego) Ibarra, Lucy (Robert) Galvan, and Otilia (Jaime) Castro; stepmother, Socorro Garza; sisters: Socorro Ham, Katy (Lupe) Calderon, Sara (Primitivo) Campos Jr, Mickey (Ruben) Lara; brothers: Roque Garza, Victor (Rosario) Garza, Guadalupe (Yolanda) Garza, and Alejandro Lozano; three sisters-in-law: Carmen Garza, Dale Garza, and Yolanda Garza; 12 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with a holy rosary at 7:00 p.m., at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church located on 705 S. Longoria St in Port Isabel, Texas. Interment will follow at Port Isabel City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Juan Valdez, Alejandro Valdez, Victor Galvan, Robert Galvan Jr., Sigifredo Galvan, Emigdio Lara Jr., Jorge Perdomo and Omar Mendez.
