San Benito, TX - Elias "Chore" Trevino, 85, passed away Monday, December 1, 2008 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. Elias was a lifetime resident of San Benito; He was a retired truck driver for Alamo Express in Brownsville; also an active parishioner for St. Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito; "Elias was a devoted husband, father and grandfather; he enjoyed outside gardening; He will be dearly missed." He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, a sister, and 2 grandsons. Elias is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Maria E. Trevino; 2 sons, Elias (Judy) Trevino, Jr. and Guadalupe (Diane) Trevino; 2 daughters, Arminda "Mindy" (Roberto) Gonzales and Yolanda Trevino; 3 stepdaughters, Graciela (Miguel) Orosco, Olivia Perez and Estela (Ricardo) De Leon; 20 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; 2 brothers and other relatives. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in San Benito. Interment will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Roberto Gonzales, Omar Roberto Gonzales, Nicholas Trevino, Juan Trevino, Manuel Gonzalez and Abundio Rivera.
