Obituary of Concepcion Jaramillo

Please share a memory of Concepcion to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Concepcion (Conchita) Jaramillo was received in a loving embrace by our Holy Father, October 24, 2008 and by her loving husband, Narciso (Chicho) Jaramillo, who left us only a month ago. She was born in Bryan, Texas August 12, 1918. She lived, married and bore her children in San Benito; she was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and a retiree of the San Benito Consolidated School District. A loving widow, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, other than her husband her family was always the forefront of her life. You knew she had something cooking in the kitchen for everyone on Sundays, her famous Hot Chocolate and Capirotada, which everybody loved when she prepared it. She always looked forward to Christmas as she participated in the Posadas, fixed her home to prepare for the arrival of Christ Jesus and served her hot chocolate with all the food that she prepared for them. Everyone would laugh when she would worry about missing her beauty shop appointment to get her hair fixed but she took great pride in how she represented her family. In her own quiet demeanor she was the strength of the family, the matriarch of the Jaramillo family. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Narciso (Chicho) Jaramillo of 75 years and their daughter, Santa Monica Jaramillo Garza; and numerous siblings. Leaving behind her children and their families who will miss her very much are Cresencio (Jerry) Jaramillo, Anita (Isidro) Sanchez, Alicia (Juan-deceased) Martinez, Esperanza (Alfredo) Gracia, Narciso (Maria) Jaramillo, Jr., San Juanita (Jesus) Carrillo, Jilverto (Gloria) Jaramillo, Jose Angel (Lydia) Jaramillo, Eduardo (Estella) Jaramillo, and Miguel (Carmen) Jaramillo. Concepcion and Narciso Jaramillo left a lasting legacy of 33 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. Visitations will be held on Monday, October 27, 2008 from 11:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Condolences may be sent to the Jaramillo address of 510 Biddle St. San Benito, TX 78586 or sign the guest book at www.thomaegarza.com. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Thomae-Garza Funeral Directors, 395 S. Sam Houston, San Benito TX (956) 399.1331
