San Benito, TX - Guadalupe J. Garza, 73, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008 at his residence after a short illness. He was a hard working loving brother, husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, Simon and Paula Garza; his sisters, Margarita Machuca and Maria Montes; his nieces, Gracie Hernandez and Velma Barco; and grandson, Crispin Perez. Mr. Garza is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Dominga Garza; his children, Yolanda Garza, Ramon Garza (Lola) and Esmeralda Mejia(Jack), all of San Benito, Juan (Janie) Garza, Guadalupe (Eusebio) Ariola, Noe (Olga) Garza and Mellisa (Manuel) Lopez all of Fremont, OH, Maricruz (Joe) Gamboa of California, and Frank (Veronica) Villarreal of Toledo, OH; 31 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Mirabel Garza, 1 sister, Viola Perales. Visitation will be held today, June 17, 2008 from 12:00 Noon to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Thomae Garza Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 2:00 PM. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Benito. Committal Service will follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park in San Benito. Pallbearers will be Juan Garza, Ramon Garza, Noe Garza, Ray Garza, Jr., Eusebio Ariola III, Jose Lino Gamboa, Ricardo Garza, Rene Chihuahua, Noe Garza, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Natali Mejia and Nilda Ariola.
