Lozano, Texas Maria Guadalupe Fernandez, 61, of Lozano, Texas passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Sunshine Haven in Olmito, Texas early in the morning. Maria Guadalupe was born on December 12, 1945 in Harlingen, Texas and was known to here family as "Lupe". She was a strong, hardworking, ambitious woman who strived as a single mother to provide for the needs of her children. She is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Gonzales of Chula Vista, California; 2 sons, Leroy (Celia) Fernandez; Jamie Martin Medina both of of Lozano, Texas; 2 Granddaughters, Bethany Louise Gonzales; Brianna Nicole Gonzales of Chula Vista, California; 2 Brothers, Enrique G. Medina of Lozano, Texas; Refugio G. Medina of Pasadena, Texas; 2 Sisters, Juanita Mercer Harlingen, Texas; Delores Delano of Galena Park, Texas. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 30, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in the North Chapel of the funeral home, her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2007 scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at St. Helen's Catholic Church with interment to follow at the Las Rusias Cemetery in Santa Monica, Texas.
