Guadalupe D. Garza, 97, of Port Isabel, Texas passed away Friday, January 4, 2008 at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, Texas. She was a life long resident of Port Isabel, Texas and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Guadalupe is preceded in death by her parents: Jose and Guadalupe Barrera Dominguez, husband: Alfredo Garza, Sr., sons: Alfredo Garza, Jr. and Lucio Garza, daughter: Hortencia Valdez, 5 grandchildren, 2 sisters: Refugia Dominguez and Aurora Rosales and 2 brothers: Jose Dominguez and Luciano Dominguez. She is survived by her loving children; 2 sons: Ruben (Maria) Garza - Port Isabel, TX, Jose D. (Amalia) Garza - Port Isabel, TX; 2 daughters: Preciosa (Emilio) Gomez - Bayview, TX and Cecilia Dominguez - El Paso, TX. In addition, Guadalupe is survived by 58 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving Guadalupe are her sisters: Isabel Valdez - Port Isabel, TX, Lydia Delgado - Port Isabel, TX and Eva Cantu - Brownsville, TX. Guadalupe's family wished to express their sincere thanks to Antonio Valdez and Isabel Valdez for their devoted love and care for Guadalupe. Visitation will be held today, January 6, 2008 from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Monday, January 7, 2008 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home and will leave in procession thereafter to continue visitation from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Port Isabel, TX where the Funeral Mass will begin at 3:00 pm.
