Alberto (Beto) Flores, Jr., 78, of San Benito, TX passed away, after a battle with Alzheimer’s, on Tuesday May 16, 2023, at the age of 78. He is preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Flores, and beloved pet Beaver, his parents, Alberto Flores, Sr., and Maria Cerda Flores. He is survived by his sister, Frances and her husband Antonio Mendoza, and sister, Olga Salazar, and numerous nephews. Beto was born in San Benito. After graduating from San Benito High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served and honorable career for 5 years. His initial specialty was working as a police K-9. His K-9 dog was named Fritz. Following his enlistment from the Air Force, he began a second successful career working for United Postal Parcel (UPS). Albert loved to listen to music, especially the Beatles while stationed in England. He got to see the Beatles. Albert loved to tell jokes, always making people laugh. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 1300 Combes St., San Benito, TX with interment to follow to Mont Meta Memorial Park.
