Please share a memory of Epifanio to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Epifanio Valdez Jr., 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2023, surrounded by his beloved family in his home in Port Isabel, Texas. Epifanio Valdez Jr. was born on January 22, 1944, in a small section of Port Isabel named Mexiquito. He was the first of 5 brothers and wore many hats throughout his life. His first name was handed down from his father and then he handed it down to his son, who now shares the same Gulf of Mexico in Heaven. His father worked as a shrimper and was able to share his strength, courage, and wisdom with him. Lifelong lessons that would be needed for what the future held for him. Those lifelong lessons are now instilled in every person’s heart he was ever able to touch. The stories he shared with all his 8 children, many grandchildren, and many many more great grandchildren, family, and friends of his as a child, teenager, and his adult life were out of this world. Never a dull moment it seemed. A go getter. No complaints. Solid, honest, humble man. One of the G.O.A.T.S. in the shrimp industry. Epifanio had a lifelong love for God, family, and ice cream. Big heart and would lend a handing hand if needed. But above all his pride and joy. His rock. His until the end. His everything. Victoria, his beloved wife for 62 years. Boy did he love her. No matter what was happening around in his world, he always took care of her and would dance the night away every moment he could with her. He had a great ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed. He is preceded in death by his parents Isabel D. Valdez and Epifanio Valdez Sr. His brothers; Rafael Valdez and Abel Valdez. His son Epifanio Valdez III, granddaughter Denise Garcia, grandson Alfredo Bella and sister-in-law Mary Valdez. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Victoria Valdez. His daughters; Maria D.(Jose) Torres, Graciela (Victor) Gonzalez, Linda (Alex) Charles, Victoria Flores, Becky (Noe) Garcia, Erika (Oscar) Valdez and his son Billy Joe (Crystal) Valdez, daughter-in-law Angie Valdez. His brothers and sisters; Baldemar (Rose) Valdez, Raul (Isabel) Valdez, Jose M. Valdez, and sister-in-law, Lydia Valdez. 28 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.
