Antonia Lara Candelas, 93, of San Benito, Texas, passed away Monday, July 18, 2022, at Sun Valley Rehabilitation Center in Harlingen, Texas. She was a life-long resident of San Benito, Texas and was a devoted housewife and mother. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Roberto Candelas, Sr., her loving sons, Roberto Candelas, Jr., and David Ricardo Candelas. She lives behind her loving sons and daughters, Miguel Oscar (Soleda) Candelas, Antonio Candelas, Aurora Leticia Candelas, Rebecca (Reynaldo +) Carrizales, Irma Yolanda Candelas, Norma Aleida (Feliciano) Araujo, Sandra (Ricardo) Chapa, Maria Candelas, Yvette (Marcos) Gonzalez, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will dearly be missed. Our family would like to thank Sun Valley Rehabilitation and Greater Valley Hospice of Harlingen, TX; Thomae-Garza Funeral Home and Mont Meta Memorial Park of San Benito, TX. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home in San Benito, TX. A Chapel Service will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Thomae-Garza Funeral Home with interment to follow at Mont Meta Memorial Park. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Feliciano Araujo, Aaron Chapa, Jacob Gonzales, Ramon De Luna, Emilio Leos, Lionel Carrizales, and Alfonso De Luna. Honorary pallbearer will be Miguel Candelas.
